2011Aug4 Portfolio UpdateToday's selling was steep, broad and worldwide. At the close of the bell today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had fallen about 512.61 points, or 4.31 percent, settling at 11,383.83. The loss, which will likely be slightly higher once the final figures are reported, managed to erase all of the DJIA's gains for the current year.
Fortunately for us our trading model moved all managed accounts into an all cash position early yesterday morning. All of the 401k plans using the IR Relative Strength Portfolio were moved to all cash yesterday at the close of the market.
More details will be forthcoming, in the meantime we can relax with all funds safely in cash.
