Palantir Slides by Most in a Year as Sales Forecast Falls Short…

What Does It Mean – Palantir Technologies reported a 39% year-over-year revenue increase to $884 million in Q1 2025, surpassing Wall Street estimates, driven by robust U.S. sales growth of 55%, particularly in commercial sectors (71%). The company raised its 2025 revenue forecast to $3.89–$3.9 billion from $3.75 billion, citing “ravenous” demand for its AI-powered data analytics software. Despite strong performance, shares fell 9.3% post-earnings due to high investor expectations and concerns over international sales weakness and valuation. CEO Alex Karp highlighted accelerated AI adoption in defense and commercial applications. Read more.

This strategic move aims to enhance Microsoft’s competitive edge against Google, Apple, and other tech giants by leveraging generative AI for improved search, productivity tools, and cloud services. Milken Crowd Warms Up to Tariffs…

What Does It Mean – At the 2025 Milken Institute Global Conference, financial leaders expressed cautious support for U.S. tariffs to protect domestic industries and encourage investment, as pitched by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. However, they criticized the uncertainty and market volatility caused by aggressive tariff policies, which have disrupted investment plans and increased risks for U.S. assets. Attendees, including billionaires and CEOs, emphasized the need for swift resolution to stabilize trade and mitigate recession risks, while acknowledging potential for stronger economic growth if managed effectively. Mehmet Oz Questions Federal Funding for Medicaid Expansion…

What Does It Mean – Mehmet Oz, head of the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, proposed reducing federal funding for Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, arguing that the 90% federal contribution for able-bodied individuals diverts resources from traditional Medicaid beneficiaries (poor, young, old, or disabled), funded at 65%. Oz advocates work requirements to refocus funding, aligning with Republican plans to cut spending by $2 trillion over a decade to offset tax cuts. Critics, including patient groups and Democratic lawmakers, warn that such cuts could harm vulnerable populations and face political backlash. Read more.

Cha-ching! Millions of dimes spill onto Texas highway after truck rolls…

Millions of coins spilled onto a Texas highway this week after a tractor-trailer hauling $800,000 in dimes rolled over in an accident, authorities said.

The spillage led to the closure of a portion of the southbound lanes of U.S. 287 in Alvord for about half a day as workers got on their hands and knees to pick up the coins in addition to using brooms and shovels and large industrial vacuums.

The tractor-trailer rolled onto its side at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after veering off the road and overcorrecting, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The highway reopened at about 7 p.m. that day, DPS said.

The driver and a passenger were transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, DPS said.

The tractor-trailer appears to be part of the fleet of trucks operated by Western Distributing Transportation Corporation, which has a division that moves cargo for the government in armored vehicles with armed personnel. A person answering the phone at the company Thursday said they had no comment.

The U.S. Mint says on its website that it’s the nation’s sole manufacturer of legal tender coins.

Our plan is “the plan will change.”

What is your plan?

Relative strength measures the price performance of a stock against a market average, a selected universe of stocks or a single alternative holding. Relative strength improves if it rises faster in an uptrend, or falls less in a downtrend. It is easily applied to individual positions in your portfolio and to sectors and asset classes.
